What's cracking Reader?

I haven’t posted business stuff on Instagram in 12 days… (I might later today....we’ll see).

…but the last post I did post (say that 3 times fast 😛) has been pulling in new email subscribers every single day since I posted.

Now, I was pretty sure IG posts died after 24 hours ( if you’re lucky) so this has been a pleasant surprise.

Coolest part?

▶️ This post has less than 900 views and wasn’t a Reel.

Yup, your girl did not go viral.

And less than ⅕ of my followers saw it, but those who did, took action. (I just checked turns out 36.4% on my interactions were from, non-followers so that's cool.)

So the next time you post about one of your freebies, try using this carousel format: (turn on images to see it)

Things to note:

1. You don’t need a mega result
Honestly, people are so over HUGE claims. I think more attainable outcomes work really well.

(Umm… keeping my kids entertained for 10 minutes without glitter or screens so I can go to the bathroom in peace? Sign me up.)

2. Don't use this exact formula for every post

Throw it into your mix of educational, entertaining, and inspiring content that “pays off” on Instagram without a comment / dm /signup.

3. Yes, you need ManyChat or some auto-DM software for this

Saying “link in bio” doesn’t give you any social proof.

The “comment the keyword” method does.

But you can totally get away with the free version of ManyChat for this (though I do LOVE the paid version—here’s a free 30-day trial of the premium version for you).

4. Highlight a freebie with your strongest welcome series/funnel

Yes, you’ll see little one-off videos or Google Docs floating around with posts like these.

But if you’re not posting consistently or haven’t posted like this before, stick with your strongest freebie first to get the biggest bang for your time buck.

Bonus tips:

If it does well, pin it to the top of your grid. (That’s what I did.)

You can try adding a trending audio to the carousel to potential get more reach. (I did not.)

Don’t worry, I’m not turning into an IG guru.

I’m still a much bigger fan of:

Hosting Bundles
Speaking in Summits
Doing Freebie Swaps

…to grow your list.

But sometimes you can go weeks (or months) between those, and SEO just isn’t what it used to be.

So when I find something that works well (especially without needing to get super lucky), I had to share it with you.

Later days,
Kate “When you do this post, feel free to send it to me @kate_doster” Doster

P.S. If you do sign up for the free 30 days of Manychat premium through my link - hit reply and let me know.

I'll send you my 60 days worth of social media posts templates (normally included in Trello Magic,) for free (even if you don't end up getting a paid account.)
